Our Company
Small Team. Steady Commitment. Families First.
Beringin was built around a simple conviction — that the families of older adults deserve honest, dependable communication, and that older adults themselves deserve companionship that feels natural rather than formal.

How Beringin Came to Be
Beringin grew out of a straightforward observation: working families across Kuala Lumpur were carrying a quiet weight. An older parent living alone a few suburbs away, a grandmother whose days had become quite solitary, an uncle who was managing well enough but whose family had no simple way to know that on any given Tuesday.
The people who started Beringin had sat in that position themselves. They knew that what families wanted was not a complicated arrangement — just someone reliable to check in, pass on a brief note, and be present in a way that felt warm rather than clinical.
We began in Sri Hartamas with a small group of carefully selected companions and a commitment to plain communication. That has not changed. The team is larger now and the range of neighbourhoods we cover has grown, but every service we offer still starts from the same place: what would genuinely help this particular family?
Our Mission
To give older adults in Kuala Lumpur a familiar, steady presence in their daily lives, and to keep families informed and at ease — no matter where in the world they are.
Our Approach
Everything is arranged around the household's actual routine, not a standard template. We listen first, then suggest what we think fits best — and we stay open to adjusting as things change.
Our Values
Honesty in communication. Discretion with family information. Consistency so that the older adult builds a real sense of familiarity. And patience — because good companionship cannot be rushed.
The People Behind Beringin
A small, close-knit group who take the work seriously and genuinely enjoy it.
Nadia Rashid
Founder & Operations Lead
Nadia spent several years coordinating household and social programmes for older adults in Petaling Jaya before starting Beringin. She oversees companion selection and family communication standards.
Kelvin Lim
Companion Coordinator
Kelvin matches companions with households across the Klang Valley, taking care to understand each older adult's preferences before making a suggestion. He handles scheduling and visit notes.
Siti Putri
Family Liaison & Workshop Facilitator
Siti leads our Caregiver Guidance Workshops and serves as the first point of contact for families with questions. Her background is in community education and adult learning.
How We Keep Standards High
A few of the practices we follow to make sure families can rely on us.
Companion Selection
Every companion goes through a structured introduction process before meeting any household. We look for warmth, reliability, and genuine comfort around older adults.
Information Discretion
Written updates and contact logs are shared only with the family contacts each household nominates. No information about your relative is passed on to anyone outside that circle.
Consistent Faces
We aim to keep the same companion with the same household throughout the arrangement. Familiarity matters, and we plan rosters with continuity in mind.
Clear Documentation
A simple contact log is maintained for every check-in and visit. Families can request a copy at any time. Nothing complicated — just a clear record of what was done and when.
Open Feedback Channel
Families are encouraged to share feedback at any point. If something is not working — the timing, the companion, the format of updates — we address it promptly and without defensiveness.
Local Knowledge
Our team lives and works in Kuala Lumpur. We understand the neighbourhoods, the local day-to-day rhythms, and the practical realities of getting around the city.
Companionship and Family Coordination in Kuala Lumpur
Beringin operates across Sri Hartamas, Mont Kiara, Bangsar, Damansara Heights, and the wider Petaling Jaya corridor. Our work covers three distinct areas: regular check-ins with written family updates, arranged companionship visits for social connection and gentle activity, and structured guidance sessions for family members taking on more day-to-day involvement with an older relative.
Each arrangement is set up after a conversation with the family. We take note of the older adult's daily preferences, communication style, and any particular household considerations before suggesting a companion or a visit schedule. The goal is an arrangement that feels natural — not an imposed service.
Families in Kuala Lumpur who work full-time, or who live a distance from an older relative, often tell us that the written update after each visit or check-in is the part they value most. Knowing that someone called, that the conversation was warm, that everything seemed settled — those small reassurances add up over the week. That is what Beringin is here to provide.
